मातृत्व के सुख को सीमन्तोन्नयन संस्कार के साथ मनाएं। सीमन्त शब्द का अर्थ है मस्तिष्क और उन्नयन शब्द का अर्थ है विकास। पुंसवन संस्कार शारीरिक विकास के लिए होता है तो यह मानसिक विकास के लिए किया जाता है। इस संस्कार का समय गर्भावस्था के चतुर्थ माह, चौथे में न कर पाए तो छठे, इसमें भी नहीं कर पाए तो आठवें माह में कर सकते हैं।
