Description
यह उपनयन के साथ-साथ ही किया जाता है। इस संस्कार को करके वेदाध्ययन प्रारंभ किया जाता था। इसमें बालक में सुश्रव, सुश्रवा, सौश्रवस होने तथा इसके बाद यज्ञ की विधि फिर वेद की निधि पाने की भावना होती है। यह संस्कार महान् अस्तित्व पहचान संस्कार है। इसे संस्कारों का संस्कार कह सकते हैं। इस संस्कार द्वारा बालक में आयु, मेधा, वर्चस्, तेज, यश, समिध्यस्, ब्रह्मवर्चस्, अस्तित्व, संसाधन, त्व आदि भाव जागृत किए जाते हैं। इस संस्कार में मत कर निर्देश, दोष मार्जनम्, कर निर्देश हीनांगपूर्ति तथा भाव जागृति अत्यधिक महत्वपूर्ण होती है।
This ritual is performed along with the Upanayana ceremony. By performing this ritual, the initiation of Vedic studies takes place. It instills in the child the qualities of being a good listener, a good learner, and develops the aspiration to perform the rituals and attain the knowledge of the Vedas. This ritual is a significant milestone in one’s existence, often referred to as the “samskar of samskars” (the ritual of rituals). Through this ritual, various virtues and qualities such as longevity, intelligence, radiance, strength, fame, the ability to sacrifice, the glory of Brahman, existence, resources, and so on, are awakened within the child. The essence of this ritual lies in following moral instructions, cleansing oneself of faults, performing actions diligently, and awakening the desired sentiments in an extraordinary manner.
